Piaf legacy; the renaissance of the 30s parisian cabaret. The ultimate french chansons of Piaf, Aznavour, Trenet and more.

" Margot Sergent is Parisian born singer vocalist; she became a cabaret performer while meeting Antoine Larcher, founder of the Cabaret des Familles in Paris , and Pierre Boussaguet, bass player of the late Michel Legrand. After 7 years of an acclaimed success in Paris in Jazz Clubs as New Morning, Baiser Sale and other world renowned venues as Olympia or La Cigale, Margot relocated to NY after her complementary studies at Berklee College of Music for Jazz where she received a grant and support from masters as Maggie Scott, Diana Krall former teacher. With an irresistible sparkling energy, and a contagious passion for story telling, Margot brings back immediately to life Piaf spirit, through chanson and torch ballads such as "la vie en rose", "non, je en regrette rien" and " l'Hymne à l'Amour". And she opens a historical capsule too, which share the strong bond between american and strong culture, as Juliette Greco and Myles Davis love story, the commitment of Boris Vian to share jazz in the Jazz Clubs in the 40's... Adding her passion of Jazz at this jewel songs selection, Margot brings you on a unique journey, with her fellow jazz partners in crime on piano, to the finest connexion between the NY swing and the pure Parisian spirit"
